2025衛武營國際音樂節 Weiwuying International Music Festival: Premiere of “Feral” (24.4.18)
Categories -The premiere of my newest work Feral is set for the 18th April 2025 in the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts- Weiwuying, performed by the dedicated and exciting Weiwuying New Music Ensemble. It feels great to have finished this piece. Knowing many of the players who are due to premiere the work, I really found myself not merely writing for a flute, or a clarinet, but for specific musicians, imagining the sound, personality and even the thought-processes of those individuals as I composed. The last time I had such a performer-specific compositional experience was when I composed Red Cliff for my own Holloway Children’s Choir back in 2019.
我的最新作品《返璞歸埜》將於2025年4月18日在國家高雄表演藝術中心衛武營首演，由充滿熱情與活力的「衛武營新音樂團」演出。能完成這部作品，讓我感到十分欣喜。由於我對多位即將參與首演的樂手都相當熟悉，在創作的過程中我發現自己並非只是在為長笛或單簧管，等這樣的樂器而譜寫，而是在為特定的音樂家寫作，一邊想像他們的音色、個性，甚至他們的思維模式。上一次我有如此「以演奏者為核心」的創作經驗，還是在2019年，為我自己的霍洛威童聲合唱團（Holloway Children’s Choir）創作《赤壁》時。
