2025 Shanghai-HK Youth Choir Festival/Holloway Children’s Choir Reunion 滬港青年合唱節評委與講座者、霍洛威童聲合唱團重逢 （2025.7.17-19）

I was invited to attend the Shanghai-Hong Kong Youth Choir Festival from 17th-19th of July 2025. I served as a Jury member for the choir competition, as well as being invited to give a lecture in Mandarin Chinese on the first day of the Festival, titled Fun and Mystery: The Challenges and Opportunities of Composing Contemporary Art Music for Children’s Choirs, in which I shared examples from pieces by Sam Cave, Tom Green and me, all of which I commissioned for and premiered with the Holloway Children’s Choir.

我與2025年7月17至19日被邀請出席2025年的滬港青年合唱節，擔任合唱比賽的評委，同時在音樂節的第一天舉行場講座。講座的題目為「趣味與神秘：專為童聲合唱團創作現代藝術性音樂的機會與挑戰」，其中分享的是我為我的霍洛威童聲合唱團委託並首演由Tom Green, Sam Cave和我的作品。

After the Festival, I was able to visit Tianjin and have a reunion with members of the Holloway Children’s Choir. It was the first time I had seen them in six years, and everyone had changed so much. Some of the older choir members are already 17 and planning which university they’re going to. It was a very emotional and frankly overwhelming meeting.

合唱節過後，我有機會去天津跟霍洛威童聲合唱團的團員和家長們重聚。是我六年來第一次見到大家，大家的變化很大。有的年齡比較大的合唱團團員已經十七歲了，正在規劃自己的大學走向。這一次的重逢，既感人又令人難以招架。
