I wrote the open score piece flourishing as incidental music to be used in the “Crossover Music Theatre” performance, put on by Nanhua University Dept. Ethnomusicology at the All Nations Cinema, Dalin, Chiayi, Taiwan on Christmas Day 2022.
我寫了一首「開放樂譜」《欣欣向榮》作為配樂，用於南華大學民族音樂學系於2022年聖誕節在台灣嘉義大林萬國戲院上演的《樂舞串流》跨域音樂劇場表演。
It was performed by mixed Chinese and Western instruments. There was very little rehearsal time, I didn’t really know how the students would take to the piece, and the first time we had the full ensemble together was at the dress rehearsal, so consequently every time I conducted the piece both in rehearsal and performance the structure and effect of the work came out quite differently. Just before the performance, in which the music was to be used in three different places between different scenes, I finally made a map of how the performances could work (of course the students didn’t know what I was going to do). These versions are by no means definitive. I’ve edited recordings of the dress rehearsal and of the performance, to show the different approaches I tried to the material.
它是由中西樂器混合演奏的。 排練的時間很少，我真的不知道學生們會如何接受這首曲子，而且我們第一次完整的合奏是在彩排的時候，所以每次我在排練和演出中指揮這首曲子時，效果與結構相當不同。 在表演中，音樂要在三專場的地方使用。剛好在演出開始之前，我終於製作了一個音樂如何進行的地圖（當然學生們不知道我要做什麼）。這些版本絕不是確定的。 我整理了彩排和表演的錄影，以展示我對材料嘗試的不同方法。
