Hook for solo guzheng performed at 2023 Taipei International New Music Festival (Oct ’23)
Categories -The two concerts of the Taipei International Festival of New Music took place in the National Recital Hall in October 2023. Both concerts were wonderful, with programmes of new works by Taiwanese and “honorary Taiwanese“ (ie. me) composers replete with fresh sounds and imaginative dramatic and rhetorical structures. It is a brilliant festival that deserves to be treasured by music lovers in Taiwan.
Jing Mu KUO curated the first concert, as well as playing in premieres of four new works, including my solo work Hook, which he played with poetic intensity. Many thanks to ISCM Taiwan for everyone’s hard work and dedication to contemporary art music in Taiwan!
