Some of you will already know that I’ve recently set up my own children’s choir in Tianjin, the Holloway Children’s Choir.\u00a0 We had our first rehearsals this weekend.\u00a0 Most of my students from the now defunct Mulan have come with me on this new journey!\u00a0 I’m looking forward to teaching them Sumer is icumen in<\/em>, Vaughan Williams arrangement for SA of\u00a0Greensleeves<\/em>, as well as pieces by\u00a0Bach, Mendelssohn, Faur\u00e9 and Britten.\u00a0 I’m particularly excited about the advanced class, most of whom worked with me last semester on my “opera for children’s choir”\u00a0Cao Chong Weighs the Elephant<\/em>, and are already learning the new material incredibly quickly!<\/p>\n
