A short piece for choir and organ, Pentecost<\/em>, has been selected for inclusion in this year’s London Festival of Contemporary Church Music.\u00a0 The 2024 festival takes place from May 10-24, spanning Ascension Day, Ascension Sunday and Pentecost, and so my piece Pentecost\u00a0<\/em>fits in well with the timing and theme of the festival.<\/p>\n

\u6211\u7684\u4e00\u9996\u70ba\u5408\u5531\u5718\u548c\u7ba1\u98a8\u7434\u800c\u5beb\u7684\u77ed\u66f2\uff0c\u300a\u8056\u9748\u964d\u81e8\u7bc0\u300b\uff0c\u5df2\u88ab\u5165\u9078\u4eca\u5e74\u502b\u6566\u7576\u4ee3\u6559\u5802\u97f3\u6a02\u7bc0\u30022024\u5e74\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u7bc0\u5c07\u65bc5\u670810\u65e5\u81f324\u65e5\u671f\u9593\u8209\u884c\uff0c\u6a6b\u8de8\u5347\u5929\u7bc0\u3001\u5347\u5929\u4e3b\u65e5\u548c\u8056\u9748\u964d\u81e8\u7bc0\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u6211\u7684\u4f5c\u54c1\u300a\u8056\u9748\u964d\u81e8\u7bc0\u300b\u5728\u6642\u6a5f\u548c\u7bc0\u6176\u4e3b\u984c\u4e0a\u90fd\u5f88\u9069\u5408\u3002<\/p>\n

I wrote Pentecost<\/em> in 2012 for the choir of the University of Southampton choral scholars, Cantores Michaelis.\u00a0 They premiered the piece in a liturgical context at St Michael\u2019s Church, Southampton, on 10th June 2012, rehearsed and conducted by me.\u00a0 I revised the piece in 2017, and tidied up the notation in 2024, and this new version will be heard for the first time in this year’s festival.<\/p>\n

\u6211\u65bc2012\u5e74\u70ba\u5357\u5b89\u666e\u6566\u5927\u5b78\u5531\u8a69\u73ed\u5b78\u8005\u5408\u5531\u5718\u300c\u8056\u9081\u514b\u723e\u6b4c\u5531\u5bb6\u300d\u5275\u4f5c\u4e86\u300a\u8056\u9748\u964d\u81e8\u7bc0\u300b\u3002\u4ed6\u5011\u65bc2012\u5e746\u670810\u65e5\u5728\u5357\u5b89\u666e\u6566\u7684\u8056\u9081\u514b\u723e\u6559\u5802\u4ee5\u79ae\u5100\u5f62\u5f0f\u9996\u6f14\u4e86\u9019\u9996\u66f2\u5b50\uff0c\u7531\u6211\u89aa\u81ea\u6392\u7df4\u548c\u6307\u63ee\u3002\u6211\u57282017\u5e74\u4fee\u8a02\u4e86\u9019\u9996\u66f2\u5b50\uff0c\u4e26\u57282024\u5e74\u6574\u7406\u4e86\u6a02\u8b5c\uff0c\u9019\u500b\u65b0\u7248\u672c\u5c07\u5728\u4eca\u5e74\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u7bc0\u4e2d\u9996\u6b21\u4eae\u76f8\u3002<\/p>\n
