Over the last eighteen months I’ve been engaged in an ongoing project to familiarise myself with the ancient and charming instrumentarium of Chinese court ceremonial music, known as Yayue, a close ancestor of the Japanese gagaku.\u00a0 I’ve approached this from the point of view of first understanding the characteristic atmosphere of a traditional Confucian ritual, known as the “three caps ceremony”, which was (and still is) a sort of coming-of-age ceremony.\u00a0 The three short movements would be used to accompany (I understand- but I am still learning) the “capping” of the ceremonial participants with three different sorts of hat, each with their own symbolism.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

I’ve already composed two sets of these three short pieces.\u00a0 Here is a rough rendition of the second set, recorded in class by the Nanhua University department of ethnomusicology Yayue ensemble.<\/p>\n

\u5728\u904e\u53bb\u7684\u5341\u516b\u500b\u6708\uff0c\u6211\u4e00\u76f4\u5728\u9032\u884c\u4e00\u500b\u9805\u76ee\uff0c\u4e3b\u65e8\u70ba\u719f\u6089\u4e00\u500b\u53e4\u8001\u800c\u8ff7\u4eba\u7684\u6a02\u5668\u7d44\u5408\uff0c\u5373\u4e2d\u570b\u7684\u5bae\u5ef7\u97f3\u6a02\uff0c\u88ab\u7a31\u70ba\u201c\u96c5\u6a02\u201d\uff0c\u8ddf\u65e5\u672c\u96c5\u6a02\u662f\u8fd1\u89aa\u3002 \u6211\u662f\u5f9e\u9996\u5148\u4e86\u89e3\u50b3\u7d71\u5112\u5bb6\u5100\u5f0f\uff08\u7a31\u70ba\u201c\u51a0\u79ae\u201d\uff0c\u6216\u201c\u4e09\u51a0\u79ae\u201d\uff0c\u6216\u201c\u4e09\u52a0\u51a0\u201d\uff0c\u6216\u201c\u4e09\u52a0\u79ae\u201d\uff0c\u56db\u500b\u540d\u7a31\u6211\u90fd\u770b\u904e\uff09\u7684\u7279\u6709\u6c1b\u570d\u7684\u89d2\u5ea6\u4f86\u63a2\u8a0e\u9019\u500b\u554f\u984c\u7684\uff0c\u9019\u662f\u4e00\u7a2e\u6210\u5e74\u5100\u5f0f\u3002 \u6309\u6211\u6240\u77e5\uff08\u672c\u4eba\u9084\u5728\u5b78\u7fd2\u4e2d\uff09\uff0c\u9019\u4e09\u500b\u7c21\u77ed\u7684\u6a02\u7ae0\u5c07\u7528\u65bc\u4f34\u96a8\u5100\u5f0f\u53c3\u8207\u8005\u6234\u4e0a\u4e09\u7a2e\u4e0d\u540c\u985e\u578b\u7684\u5e3d\u5b50\uff0c\u6bcf\u7a2e\u5e3d\u5b50\u90fd\u6709\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u8c61\u5fb5\u610f\u7fa9\u3002<\/p>\n

\u6211\u5df2\u7d93\u5275\u4f5c\u4e86\u5169\u5957\u9019\u4e09\u9996\u77ed\u66f2\u3002 \u9019\u662f\u7b2c\u4e8c\u5957\u7684\u7c97\u7565\u6f14\u7e79\uff0c\u7531\u5357\u83ef\u5927\u5b78\u6c11\u65cf\u97f3\u6a02\u5b78\u7cfb\u96c5\u6a02\u6a02\u5718\u5728\u8ab2\u5802\u4e0a\u9304\u88fd\u3002<\/p>\n
