In terms of the meaning or expression of the piece, both the astronomical and cultural aspects of the moon play a significant role. In astronomical terms, the moon is the earth\u2019s closest natural satellite, and yet it is also the furthest human beings have ever travelled away from our home planet so far. The captivating footage from the Apollo 11 mission of the astronauts orbiting close above and landing on the moon\u2019s surface, and the barren, shocking visual imagery, powerfully influenced the sounds of some of the barer, more extreme sections of my piece. On the other hand, the main thematic material derives from two musical pieces that also explicitly mention the moon in their titles: Debussy\u2019s Clair de Lune, and Hua Yan-Jun\u2019s The Second Spring Reflects the Moon. Clair de Lune&#8217;s associations with the figure of Pierrot from the Commedia dell\u2019Arte tradition, in particular his persona as a melancholic outcast, seems to chime well with the impoverished (and largely neglected in his lifetime) figure of the blind street musician Hua Yan-Jun. The evocations of Clair de Lune and The Second Spring Reflects the Moon represent two possible cultural reactions to the moon, and are both in dialogue with each other, as well as with the physical reality of the moon as an astronomical object.<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\">At the start, the evocation of Hua Yan-Jun&#8217;s music appears in the Chinese instruments, while the Debussy evocation appears in the Western instruments. There\u2019s a kind of \u201ctypecasting\u201d going on. Later on, all kinds of cross-polination happen, and the two musics appearing in either group, in multiple different combinations and instrumentations. There\u2019s a moment when the music totally changes, however: this is, in my mind, the image of Apollo 11 shooting across the surface of the moon, at which moment we are confronted by its wholly non-earthly and inhuman reality. A state of aporia follows, after which the Debussy and Hua Yan-Jun musics recover their identity somewhat, albeit altered by what preceeded. A lot of human culture is shaped by mythology, allegory and imagination, but scientific discoveries and technological endeavour are also constantly remoulding it too; arguably, this process is partially dramatized in Moon.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\u4f5c\u54c1\u4ecb\u7d39\uff1a<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u300a\u6708\u300b\u70ba\u4e2d\u97f3\u85a9\u514b\u65af\u98a8\u3001\u4e2d\u80e1\u3001\u99ac\u6797\u5df4\u517c\u986b\u97f3\u7434\u548c\u53e4\u7b8f\u7684\u56db\u91cd\u594f\u800c\u4f5c\u3002\u5c31\u9019\u90e8<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u4f5c\u54c1\u7684\u610f\u7fa9\u548c\u610f\u5883\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u6d89\u53ca\u6708\u7403\u7684\u5929\u6587\u8207\u6587\u5316\u4e8c\u500b\u5c64\u9762\u3002\u5f9e\u5929\u6587\u5b78\u7684\u89d2\u5ea6\u4f86\u8aaa\uff0c\u6708\u7403\u662f\u96e2\u5730\u7403\u6700\u8fd1\u7684\u5929\u7136\u885b\u661f\uff0c\u4f46\u4e5f\u662f\u76ee\u524d\u4eba\u985e\u96e2\u958b\u5730\u7403\u53ef\u8e0f\u53ca\u7684\u6700\u9060\u4e4b\u8655\u3002<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u963f\u6ce2\u7f85<\/span><\/span>11<span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u865f\u592a\u7a7a\u4eba\u5728\u6708\u7403\u4e0a\u7a7a\u904b\u884c\u4e26\u964d\u843d\u5728\u6708\u7403\u8868\u9762\u7684\u93e1\u982d\u8b93\u7b46\u8005\u842c\u5206\u8457\u8ff7\uff0c\u90a3\u8352\u6dbc\u3001\u4ee4\u4eba\u9707\u9a5a\u7684\u756b\u9762\u4f5c\u70ba\u9019\u500b\u4f5c\u54c1\u4e2d\u4e00\u4e9b\u66f4\u5149\u79bf\u3001\u66f4\u6975\u7aef\u90e8\u5206\u7684\u8072\u97f3\u4f86\u6e90\u3002\u53e6\u4e00\u65b9\u9762\uff0c\u300a\u6708\u300b\u4e3b\u984c\u7d20\u6750\u4f86\u81ea\u65bc\u5169\u9996\u5728\u6a19\u984c\u4e2d\u660e\u78ba\u63d0\u5230\u6708\u4eae\u7684\u6a02\u66f2\uff1a\u5fb7\u5e03\u897f\u7684\u300a\u6708\u5149\u300b\u548c\u83ef\u5f65\u5747\u7684\u300a\u4e8c\u6cc9\u6620\u6708\u300b\u3002\u6211\u5c07\u300a\u6708\u5149\u300b\u8207\u7fa9\u5927\u5229\u85dd\u8853\u559c\u5287\u50b3\u7d71\u4e2d\u7684 <\/span><\/span>Pierrot<span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u806f\u7d50\uff0c\u800c\u9019\u500b\u5b64\u7368\u68c4\u5152\u7684\u5f62\u50cf\u4f3c\u4e4e\u8207\u83ef\u5f65\u9019\u4f4d\u4e00\u751f\u5e7e\u4e4e\u88ab\u5ffd\u8996\u7684\u76f2\u4eba\u8857\u982d\u97f3\u6a02\u5bb6\u7684\u8ca7\u56f0\u80cc\u666f\u76f8\u543b\u5408\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u300a\u6708\u5149\u300b\u548c\u300a\u4e8c\u6cc9\u6620\u6708\u300b\u4ee3\u8868\u5c0d\u6708\u7403\u7684\u5169\u7a2e\u6587\u5316\u53cd\u61c9\uff0c\u65e2\u80fd\u76f8\u4e92\u5c0d\u8a71\uff0c\u4e5f\u8207\u4f5c\u70ba\u5929\u6587\u7269\u9ad4\u7684\u6708\u7403\u5c0d\u8a71\u3002<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u4e00\u958b\u59cb\uff0c\u83ef\u5f65\u5747\u300a\u4e8c\u80e1\u6620\u6708\u300b\u7531\u4e2d\u570b\u6a02\u5668\u594f\u8d77\uff0c\u800c\u897f\u65b9\u6a02\u5668\u5247\u6f14\u7e79<\/span><\/span>Debussy<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u300a\u6708\u5149\u300b\uff0c\u597d\u50cf\u6a02\u5668\u50c5\u9650\u65bc\u6f14\u594f\u81ea\u5df1\u6587\u5316\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\uff0c\u63a5\u8457\u5247\u884d\u4f38\u5404\u5f0f\u5404\u6a23\u7684\u4ea4\u7e54\uff0c<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"left\"><span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u53ef\u807d\u5230\u5169\u7a2e\u97f3\u6a02\u51fa\u73fe\u5728\u591a\u7a2e\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u6a02\u5668\u7d44\u5408\u3002\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u67d0\u500b\u77ac\u9593\u97f3\u6a02\u7a81\u7136\u8b8a\u6a23\u4e86\uff0c\u5c0d\u6211\u800c\u8a00\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u662f\u963f\u6ce2\u7f85<\/span><\/span>11<span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u865f\u98db\u8d8a\u6708\u7403\u8868\u9762\u7684\u756b\u9762\uff0c\u7576\u4e0b\u6211\u5011\u6b63\u9762\u81e8\u8457\u6708\u7403\u975e\u5875\u4e16\u548c\u975e\u4eba\u985e\u7684\u73fe\u5be6\u3002\u96a8\u4e4b\u800c\u4f86\u7684\u662f\u4e00\u7a2e\u56f0\u60d1\u7684\u6c1b\u570d\uff0c\u4e4b\u5f8c<\/span><\/span>Debussy<span style=\"font-family: NSimSun;\"><span lang=\"zh-CN\">\u548c\u83ef\u5f65\u5747\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u518d\u73fe\uff0c\u96d6\u7136\u8207\u958b\u982d\u5df2\u6709\u6240\u4e0d\u540c\u3002\u8a31\u591a\u4eba\u985e\u6587\u5316\u662f\u7531\u795e\u8a71\u3001\u5bd3\u8a00\u548c\u60f3\u50cf\u6240\u5851\u9020\uff0c\u4f46\u79d1\u5b78\u767c\u73fe\u548c\u79d1\u6280\u9032\u6b65\u4e5f\u4e0d\u65b7\u5730\u6539\u9020\u6587\u5316\uff1b\u800c\u9019\u500b\u904e\u7a0b\u5728\u300a\u6708\u300b\u4e2d\u4f5c\u4e86\u6232\u5287\u5316\u7684\u5448\u73fe\u3002<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More
