\u85c9\u7531\u5357\u83ef\u5927\u5b78\u7814\u767c\u8655\u7684\u8cc7\u52a9\uff0c\u672c\u4eba\u5df2\u958b\u59cb\u9032\u884c\u65b0\u7684\u5c08\u984c\u7814\u7a76\uff1a\u201c\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u6167\u4f5c\u70ba\u4f5c\u66f2\u7684\u8f14\u52a9\u5de5\u5177\u4ee5\u53ca\u9748\u611f\u7684\u4f86\u6e90\uff1a\u63a2\u7d22\u6a5f\u5668\u5b78\u7fd2\u7684\u98a8\u683c\u8f49\u79fb\u5728\u97f3\u6a02\u5275\u4f5c\u4e2d\u7684\u904b\u7528\u4e4b\u6f5b\u529b\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n

\u62112022\u5e741\u6708\u61c9\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7e3d\u76e3Emily Howard\u7684\u9080\u8acb\u66fe\u53c3\u89c0\u82f1\u570b\u7687\u5bb6\u5317\u82f1\u683c\u862d\u97f3\u6a02\u5b78\u9662\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u8207\u79d1\u6280\u7814\u7a76\u8207\u5be6\u8e10\u4e2d\u5fc3\uff08PRiSM\uff09\u3002\u6211\u5728\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\u88e1\u6709\u6a5f\u6703\u4e86\u89e3\u5230\u4ed6\u5011\u4ee4\u4eba\u8d0a\u5606\u7684\u8d85\u7d1a\u96fb\u8166\u300cPRiSM sample RNN\u300d\u7684\u529f\u80fd\uff0c\u4e26\u8207\u5b78\u8005\u8a0e\u8ad6\u5b83\u5728\u8f14\u52a9\u4f5c\u66f2\u4e0a\u7684\u53ef\u80fd\u6027\u3002\u6211\u5011\u6709\u8a0e\u8ad6\u6211\u521d\u6b65\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u65b9\u5411\uff0c\u4e26\u898f\u5283\u9032\u4e00\u6b65\u7684\u8a0e\u8ad6\u3002<\/p>\n

In January 2022 I was invited by Emily Howard, director of PRiSM (Practise and Research in Science and Music) at the Royal Northern College of Music, to visit the centre.\u00a0 I had the chance to learn about the functionality of their breathtaking supercomputer “PRiSM sample RNN”, and to talk to their Post-Doctoral Research Fellow about its potential applications as a compositional aid.\u00a0 We have already discussed a tentative direction for the research, and have organised further discussions.<\/p>\n

PRiSM sample RNN\u8207\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u97f3\u6a02\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\u4e4b\u795e\u7d93\u7db2\u7d61\u4e0d\u540c\uff0c\u5b83\u662f\u5c08\u9580\u5206\u6790\u97f3\u983b\u6578\u64da\uff08\u800c\u4e0d\u662fmidi\u6216\u6a02\u8b5c\uff09\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\u5b83\u53ef\u4ee5\u63d0\u4f9b\u8a31\u591a\u65b0\u9bae\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u65b9\u5411\u3002\u6211\u521d\u6b65\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u65b9\u6848\u662f\u8a66\u5716\u904b\u7528PRiSM sample RNN\u7684\u795e\u7d93\u7db2\u7d61\u4f86\u5206\u6790\u4e26\u6a21\u4eff\uff08\u7531\u5357\u83ef\u5927\u5b78\u5b78\u751f\u9304\u88fd\u7684\uff09\u570b\u6a02\u6216\u96c5\u6a02\u7684\u9304\u97f3\uff0c\u63a5\u8457\u5c07\u795e\u7d93\u7db2\u7d61\u6240\u7522\u751f\u7684\u98a8\u683c\u6a21\u4eff\u6210\u679c\u88e1\u9762\u6709\u8da3\u7684\u5167\u5bb9\u8a18\u8b5c\u4e0b\u4f86\uff0c\u91cd\u65b0\u7528\u5be6\u969b\u6f14\u594f\u4f86\u6f14\u594f\u6b64\u6210\u679c\u7684\u3002\u6211\u6703\u5728\u6b64\u7db2\u7ad9\u4e0a\u767c\u4f48\u672a\u4f86\u7684\u767c\u5c55\u3002<\/p>\n

PRiSM sample RNN seems to be somewhat different from neural networks in other music research centres, in that it processes audio date, as opposed to midi or notated scores.\u00a0 It therefore affords several fresh directions for research.\u00a0 My initial research idea is to try to use PRiSM sample RNN’s neural net to analyse and imitate recordings (made by students at Nanhua University) of Chinese traditional music and Yayue (Tang dynasty ceremonial court music), in turn taking the most interesting portions of the imitative results produced by the neural net and renotating them for actual performers.\u00a0 I shall post further developments on my website.<\/p>\n
