{"id":1012,"date":"2019-01-07T04:50:46","date_gmt":"2019-01-07T03:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/georgehollowaycomposer.com\/?p=1012"},"modified":"2023-08-25T21:39:02","modified_gmt":"2023-08-25T20:39:02","slug":"phasma-music-cd-release-on-naxos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgehollowaycomposer.com\/?p=1012","title":{"rendered":"Phasma Music CD Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In June 2018 I won joint second place in the Witold Szalonek International Composition Competition.\u00a0 Phasma music, headed up by contemporary music tour-de-force Iwona Glinka, have released a stunning studio recording of the finalists&#8217; pieces on the Phasma Music Label.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the cover, featuring the impressive 14th-Century St John&#8217;s Cathedral in Kwidzyn, where the competition was held last June.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote this &#8220;character piece&#8221; as a Christmas gift for Stella Zhou. The two themes are labelled &#8220;doubt and trepidation&#8221;, and &#8220;wonder and radiance&#8221;, and contrast different feelings that one might have towards the unknown future.
